Homeland Security Community Academy
VINCENNES, IND. – The public is invited to enroll in a Homeland Security Community Academy that will begin March 22 at Vincennes University. Sponsored by VU’s Eta Sigma Iota Homeland Security Professional Society, attendance at the three-session academy will be beneficial to all community members. The sessions are designed to raise awareness about timely issues such as weapons of mass destruction, international and domestic terrorism, emergency management, agro-terrorism and community risk management and vulnerability assessment. The presenters will be fourth-year VU Capstone Experience students enrolled in the Homeland Security and Public Safety baccalaureate degree program. Enrollment in the academy is free. Participants are requested to attend all three sessions. The sessions are scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (EDT) on three Mondays: March 22 and 29 and April 5, with a graduation ceremony on April 12. The sessions will be in the auditorium at the Indiana Center for Applied Technology, located on corner of St. Clair and Chestnut streets in Vincennes. Dinner and Talent Show March 27th
A Dinner and Talent Show will be presented March 27th at 6pm at the Odon Community building. Cost for the meal and event is $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for children. Proceeds will benefit the Odon Senior and Family Services and the Odon Lions Club.

5k walk/run for the Travis Connor Family
A 5k walk/run has been planned to raise money for the Travis Connor family. Travis' 4 year old daughter McKenna suffers from a PCD, a progressive, debilitating disease that attacks her respiratory system. A lung transplant will eventually be necessary, but will not be covered by insurance since it will only prolong her life, not cure her disease. Donations are needed to make this event a success. Family Support Group at Harvest Community Fellowship
A family support group for those family members whose loved ones use and abuse drugs and alcohol will take place every Tuesday at 8pm at Harvest Community Fellowship on Main Street in Washington. All discussions are confidential. Sponsored by the MAIN team.

Auction for the Lighthouse Recovery Center April 17th
Donations are being accepted now for the Lighthouse Auction scheduled for April 17th at the 4-H Building at Eastside Park. If you have items to donate, call 257 0113 or 444 9775 for pick up. The auction will take place April 17th at 10am. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Lighthouse Recovery Center.
