Two die in separate crashes

Deady accidents  in Shelburn and Dale both involved semis.

 
A Shelburn man died in a 2 vehicle crash in the south lanes of US 41 in Sullivan County last night.
State Police say a 2006 Ford Fusion driven by 35-year-old Dirk A. Bose was headed south just south of Farmersburg and he didn’t stop for a semi that was stopped at a railroad crossing.   There was no evidence of braking by the Fusion.  Bose was prounounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the sem was not injured.


A crash Thursday evening just north of Dale claimed the life of a driver.
State police report it happened at around 7:20 local time when a ’94 Subaru was stopped on the south shulder of US 231 north of Spencer County Road 225—North  The Subaru tried to pull back into traffic when a semi was headed south and tried to change lanes from the driving lane to the passing lane and couldn’t avoid hittting the Suburu.  Killed was 41-year-old Melanie Rothery of Oregon City, Oregon The semi driver, 66-year-old David Wolfkiel was treated and released at the scene for pain to the leg.
