Governor Mike Pence formally announced on Thursday night that he will be seeking a second term in office. The announcement came among party supporters at a Republican fundraising dinner.

But before he took the stage he had to answer questions about a black cloud hanging over his announcement–a poll that shows him virtually tied with his most viable democrat opponent, John Gregg. However the the poll isn‘t appearing to have shaken his confidence. Pence says he is proud to take his record around Indiana and build his campaign on the accomplishments of his first term in office.
About 50 protesters waving signs with “Fire Mike Pence” and similar sayings lined a sidewalk outside the Indianapolis banquet hall where Pence made his announcement last night.
