County Highway Superintendent Phil Cornelius told the Daviess County Commissioners on Monday that the southbound lane of the Odon-Cannelburg Road project had been paved but the contractor had then moved the machinery to a project in Bloomington. Cornelius said the northbound lane would be paved this week, but no traffic would be allowed on the new pavement for three days to allow the concrete to cure. Cornelius also asked for a speed study on CR 1200 E, after the work is complete on that road.
In other business, as part of Skyway Towers’ plans to place radio towers on County Highway property, The Commissioners gave Cornelius consent to send notification to surrounding property owners. The County’s Zoning Board will hear the case at its meeting at 6 pm on October 15.
Also at the meeting, a patron asked about placing a stop sign at the intersection of CR 900 E and CR 600 S while another asked about the speed limit on Hillcrest Road. The Commissioners agreed to look into both issues.
Due to the Columbus Day Holiday, the Commissioners next meeting will be on October 26.
