Unborn baby saved after a fatal van crash has a 50% chance of survival
Doctors are hopeful about the status of a baby born just before its mom died from injuries in last week’s I-69 van crash.
29-year-old Christela Georges of Washington and a native of Haiti was 24 weeks pregnant at the time of the crash.  She later died of injuries but doctors were able to save the baby.
The baby is in critical but stable condition at an Evansville Hospital.  Doctors say babies born at 24 weeks generally have a 50% survival rate.
