Elizabeth (Liz) J. Nolan, 79, of Montgomery, passed away at 12:55 p.m. on October 6, 2015 in Loogootee.
She was born March 23, 1936 in Washington, IN to the late Jacob and Martha Ellen (Miles) Miller.
Liz was a 1953 graduate of Washington Catholic High School. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and All Saints Catholic Church, where she was a very active member in the Alter Society.
She loved solving crossword puzzles, writing poems for every occasion, crocheting and reading. Liz had an eye for fashion and appreciated sparkling beauty. Liz treasured her family, her grandchildren and her loving husband George.
Liz is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Martha Ellen (Miles) Miller; sister, Anna Mae (Bill) Miller; brothers, Bob Miller and Dale Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Nolan of Montgomery; children, Lisa (Curt) Miller of Montgomery, Colleen (Jerry) Moore of Marietta, GA., Lori (Bruce) Gusman of Miami, FL., Lawrence J. (Janella) Nolan III of Washington, Tim (Jane) Nolan of Washington and Julie A. (Brian) King of Washington; grandchildren, Nolan (Christine) Miller, Keith (Bonnie) Miller, George Miller, Jake, Ellie and Maggie Moore, Zachary, Harley and Mackenzie Gusman, Jorrin J. and Lawson J. Nolan, Clarice and Conner Nolan, Kylie Elizabeth Sluder (Fiancé Kyle Hembree) and Beau Sluder; great-grandchildren, Ivy, Kendall, Brylee and Garrett Miller and Kaden Roark; sisters-in-law, Rita Schnarr and Dusty Brand. Along with many special and loving friends; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery, officiated by Fr. James Koressel. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Brocksmith, Blake Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or Barr-Reeve High School Scholarship Fund – George and Liz Nolan.
