Pike County Farm Bureau honored at state convention

The Pike County Farm Bureau was among several that have been recognized for outstanding achievement during Indiana Farm Bureau’s state convention on Sunday.
The Pike County chapter received honors in the Impact Award Category for their Accelerating Interaction with Youth Program.  The Impact Award recognizes a county for their efforts that resulted in a significant impact or an increase in political influence and clout. The awards are also aligned with the five areas of the Farm Bureau strategic plan.
The Pike County Farm Bureau was also recognized in the Public Relations and Education Category for its Farm Safety Education: Grain Storage Rescue Tube Program.
Other counties were recognized for their work in INFB’s five program areas: membership outreach; issue engagement; influential organization; young farmers and youth; and public relations and education. Counties could qualify as “cardinals,” “hawks” or “falcons” (the highest level). Fifty-nine counties reached the falcon level including Pike, Knox, Dubois and Gibson Counties.
