Hoosiers have an extra stocking stuffer this holiday season; lower gas prices. AAA says for the first time since March 2009, nationwide average gas prices dropped below the $2 per gallon mark this week. The national average is now $1.99 a gallon. AAA says cheaper gas prices have saved Americans more than $115 billion so far this year. That’s roughly $550 per driver. As more than 91 million Americans travel this holiday period, more than two-thirds can expect to see gas selling for under $2 a gallon.
