GOP says Ted Cruz set for Indianapolis campaign stop
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is scheduled to attend the Indiana GOP’s spring fundraising dinner next week ahead of the state’s May 3 primary.
The party says the Texas senator will attend the Thursday evening event in Indianapolis.
It is the first Indiana campaign visit announced this year by any of the Republican or Democratic presidential candidates, although more are anticipated leading up to the state’s primary.
Cruz, fellow Republicans Donald Trump and John Kasich and Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have all started campaign operations in the state.
Indiana Republican Chairman Jeff Cardwell says all the GOP presidential candidates have been invited to the party dinner.
Meanwhile, Ted Cruz’s father, is slated to attend tonight’s Knox County Lincoln Day Dinner event in Vincennes. Linda Painter with the Knox County Republican Party also says that a representative from the Donald Trump campaign will attend.
Governor Mike Pence is the keynote speaker.
The Lincoln Day Dinner will be at the Greene Activities Center at VU.
