Monte Jake Wirey formally of Petersburg passed away Monday.
Monte Jake Wirey of Haubstadt, Indiana, formerly of Petersburg, died April 18, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital.
Monte was born November 4, 1938 to Melvin and Olive Wirey of Mt. Olympus, Indiana. Monte was preceded in death by son Bradley Wirey, parents Melvin and Olive Wirey and sister, Judy Wirey Craig.
Monte was a devoted husband, father, and grand-father. He is survived by wife, Jo Ann (Tevault) Wirey, son Scott Wirey and wife Kelly, daughter Melanie Blackard & husband Jason and 2 grandsons Connor Wirey and Peyton Blackard.
Monte graduated from Mt Olympus High School. He coached Little League in Petersburg for several years. Monte retired from Siemens Corp in Princeton, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 22, 2016 at 11:00AM EST at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be Thursday the 21st from 5:00 to 9:00PM EST. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
