Franklin wins for Coroner in Martin, Dubois County Commissioner Vollmer loses his primary contest.
MARTIN COUNTY RESULTS
Martin County Democrats chose Tina Franklin as their candidate for Coroner in the fall. She beat Larry Harding 57 to 43%.
Here’s how Martin County voters voted in in the other contests of interest. Democrats gave Bernie Sanders 54% over Hillary Clinton for President Republicans gave Donald Trump 61%. For US Congress Todd Young got 62% of the Martin County vote. The 8th District Democrat Congressional race went to David Orentlicher with 52% and Republican Richard Moss barely won Martin with 50.6%.
PIKE COUNTY VOTING
Pike County Democrats joined fellow democrats in giving Bernie Sanders more votes than Hillary Clinton. Sanders finished Pike County with over 53%. Republican Donald Trump took Pike with 62%. Todd Young won for the Republicans for Senate in Pike with 67%. For US Congress Larry Bucshon won for the GOP in Pike with 54%. The Democrats chose David Orentlicher. The only local race was a seven person election for six Democrats to go to the state Democrat Convention. Candidate Brad Hampton lost.
DUBOIS COUNTY RESULTS
In Dubois County a closely watched County Commissioner race saw longtime Commissioner Larry Vollmer get upset by challenger, Gary Eck. Eck finished with 2037 votes to Vollmer’s 1234. In the other races Dubois County voters chose Trump and Clinton for President. Bucshon and Orentlicher for Congress and Young for Senate.
