Larry Albert Aikman Jr., 61, of Washington

Larry Albert Aikman Jr. 61 of Washington passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 with his family by his side.
Larry was born February 16, 1955 to Larry Albert Aikman Sr. and the late Betty Lou (Pancake) Aikman in Washington, IN. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School and soon after was wed to Janice (Mangin) Aikman. Larry was a member of the United States Air Force for 23 years and proudly served his country. He and Janice were members of New Hope Christian Church and enjoyed Contemporary Christian Music there. Larry was a cement driver for Jones and Sons for over 19 years, he was a member of the N.R.A., Conservation Club, and was an avid outdoorsman. Most of all Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially their times together sitting on the deck at the river.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years. Janice Aikman; two children, Mary Lou Aikman; Robbie Aikman (Lara); two grandchildren, Madison and Emily Ross; his father, Larry Albert Aikman Sr.; Siblings, Debbie Tuell (Larry), Kathy Lynn Aikman; two nieces; three nephews; and 2 great-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou Aikman; an Uncle, Robert “Bob” Pancake; and an Aunt, Elsie Myers.
Visitation will be held in Gill Funeral Home on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 4pm until 8pm. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:30 am at New Hope Christian Church with Pastor Joe Coquillard officiating. Larry will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery with military graveside honors. Online condolences may be made at www.gillsince1872.com.
