Robert J. “Joe” Wadsworth, 84 of Plainville died Thursday, May 19.
Robert J. “Joe” Wadsworth, 84 of Plainville made his journey to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 19, 2016 while surrounded by his family. A gentleman in all ways, Dad taught his children the values of life. God first, loving and caring for his family next.
Joe was a friend to everyone he met and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a gentle soul who will be truly missed, not only by his family but all who knew him. We do not say good-bye to him, but, we will see you later for a celebration where we all gather in our heavenly home. He was born on June 14, 1931 to Russell and Floy (Sears) Wadsworth in Odon, IN. He graduated from Odon High School. On February 20, 1953 he married the love of his life Loretta Wadsworth (Orender). Joe worked as an Electronic Technician for Crane Naval Base and retired after 30 years. He was a member of Plainville Christian Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind his children: Kelly Wadsworth (Telesa) of Odon, IN, Myra Allen (George) of El Cajon, CA, David Wadsworth (Glenda) of Newburgh, IN, Doug Wadsworth (Julie) of Washington, IN; 5 Grandsons: Matthew, George, Adam, Eric, and Evan; 5 Granddaughters: Selena, Holly, Jessica, Erin, and Sarah; 3 Great Grandchildren: Hunter, Peighton, and Declan; and Sister in law Judy Orender. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Floy (Sears) Wadsworth, sister Barbara Evans, half brother Rex Mumaw, and infant sister.
The funeral service for Joe will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Plainville Christian Church at 1pm with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Plainville Cemetery. Friends may call at Gill Funeral Home on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 4-8pm.
