Frank P. (Buddy) Bledsoe, Jr., 78, of Loogootee, passed away at 12:30 a.m. May 25, 2016 at The Timbers of Jasper.
He was born January 8, 1938 in Wayne, Michigan to the late Frank P. Bledsoe Sr. and Marie (Burris) Baker.
Buddy graduated in 1957 from Loogootee High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He worked for numerous trucking companies as a dispatcher and was last employed by Morin Trucking in Montgomery. After retirement he worked part-time for the Loogootee Postal Service.
He loved spending time with his family, friends and classmates. He was an avid Indiana University fan and enjoyed watching basketball and numerous sports.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank P. Bledsoe Sr. and Marie (Burris) Baker; step-father, Tuck Baker; brothers, Gary Ray Bledsoe and John Bledsoe.
He is survived by a son, Douglas Robert of Louisville, KY.; sisters, Sue (Rod) Carrico of Loogootee, Pat Clark of Jasper, Kimberly (Mark) Ragsdall of Bargersville, IN.; brother, Terry (Rene) Bledsoe of Petaluma, CA.; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Martin County Community Foundation.
