30-year-old Timothy J. France of Washington has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The Washington Times Herald http://www.washtimesherald.com/ reports that France was arrested in February 2014 for alleged encounters with a 9 year old girl over several months in Knox and Daviess County in 2012 and 2013. During that investigation, France was in the Gibson County jail on domestic battery and other charges. He pled guilty and was sentenced to probation in April 2012.
A year and a half later, he was arrested for domestic battery again following an incident with his wife. After being released on bond he was sent back to Gibson County on a petition to revoke a sentence on the battery charges. France was then sentenced to time served for the battery charges and then brought to Daviess County later.
According to the newspaper, Judge Dean Sobecki sentenced France to 20 years on the child molesting charge. He was given credit for time served on other charges. He was also ordered to pay $1300 in restitution to Invisible Fence Company on in a case involving fraud. The sentence was handed down in accordance to a plea agreement reached back in April.
