Frieda A. (Hovis) Sutton, 93, of Loogootee, passed away at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born October 2, 1922 in Martin County, Indiana to the late John and Elsie (Swayze) Hovis.
Frieda enjoyed quilting and house plants. She was an avid reader.
She was preceded by her parents, John and Elise (Swayze) Hovis; sons, Terry Sutton and Kevin Sutton.
Frieda is survived by her daughters, Diane Tortolero of Lake Luzerne, NY and Carol Sutton of French Lick; daughter-in-law’s, Jonell Sutton and Sharon Sutton, both of Loogootee; grandchildren, Lisa Burch, Ryan, Travis and Bobby Sutton, Eric Sutton, Matt Murray and Kyle Meredith; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August, 3, 2016 at Truelove United Methodist Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Truelove Church Cemetery.
