New contracts result in more pay for teachers in Cougar Country..
Teachers at North Daviess will see an increase in base pay ranging from just under $1800 to just over $2550 depending on years of experience and teacher evaluations among other things.
The Washington Times Herald WASHINGTON TIMES HERALD reports that the North Daviess School Board approved new contracts Monday night.
Superintendent Bob Bell, said first year teacher pay will be $37,000 and the average base pay increase for teachers with less than 20 years experience would be 3.46 percent. He said teachers with a master’s and 20-plus years of experience will see 1.4 percent added to their base and will receive a 1.4 percent stipend.
Bell said the corporation is also offering $1,000 base salary increase for eligible teachers who attain an eligible content area graduate degree beyond what is required.
Also on Monday the newspaper says the North Daviess School approved the 2017 budget, capital projects plan and school bus replacement plan. The total advertised budget of over $12.5 million is slightly less than last year.
