About a hundred people turned out for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Daviess County Courthouse at 11 Friday morning.

Event Organizer Leslie Heshcleman was pleased with the turnout especially of the attendance of school kids. Winners of the Voice of Democracy contest for high school students were announced and 1st place went to Lauren Atienza. Also winners for the essay contes of Patriot’s pen for middle school students were announced that winner was Alyssa Davison a Washington Catholic 7th Grader. The topic was “The America I Believe In.”
