On average, you’re paying $1.95 a gallon today according to GasBuddy.com. That’s down 12 cents from last Monday, when gas was $2.07 a gallon.
The price dropped even more in Indiana’s 2 largest cities. Fort Wayne’s gas prices are down 18 cents to $1.87. In Indianapolis, gas is $1.93 a gallon today, down 14 cents since last week.
Indiana has the 5th cheapest gas in the country. Only Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas have lower gas prices. The cheapest gas in Indiana: $1.68 in West Lafayette.
“Over the next few weeks expect prices at the pump to move lower based on market fundamentals, not politics,” says Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com. “Inventories remain healthy and wholesale gasoline prices across the U.S. today, on average, are more than 10 cents per gallon lower than where they stood just a week ago.”
Indiana’s gas prices are also well below the national average. That average fell 5 cents this week to $2.15 a gallon.
