Betty L. O’Connor, 92, of Washington, passed away at her home Monday at 7:45 p.m.
Betty was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Washington, to Lee Wade and Blanche (Summer) Wade.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Montgomery, and a former member of St. Simon and St. Mary churches. She married Carl B. O’Connor on Aug. 18, 1944, in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Carl preceded her in death after 70 years of marriage.
She was the backbone of the household and supported her husband in all his endeavors. She is survived by daughters Julia Ann (Michael McAninch) O’Connor of Westfield, Jan (Jim) Evrard of Washington, Lori (Dana) Craig of Yadkinville, North Carolina; sons Jim (Sheryl) O’Connor of Fishers, Pat (Chan) O’Connor of Greenwood, and Mark (Yumi) O’Connor of Washington; 28 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean Bruner and Margie Edminson; and two brothers, Don Wade and Joe Wade.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Washington.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
