When the holidays are over, Indiana lawmakers will get to work at the 2017 General Assembly Session. This year is what’s known as the long session as it’s time to craft a new state budget.
State Senator Eric Bassler of Washington says some work as already started..
Bassler, a Republican, says that he’ll be more involved in the budget making process because of his current committee assignments..
Bassler is also on a subcommittee on the school funding formula. He will remain on the education and environmental affairs committees.
