Firefighter’s home caught fire this morning in Monroe City

 

There were no injuries in a house fire in Monroe City this morning.
The fire occurred at the home of a Harrison Township Volunteer Firemen.
Michael Johnson was sitting in his living room at 405 West 8th in Monroe City at 7:45 this morning when a neighbor banged on the door informing him of  smoke coming from the attic of the home.  Johnson evacuated his family and when the Harrison Township Department arrived they had the fire out in about 2 to 3 minutes. They were assisted by the Vincennes Township and Petersburg Fire Departments.
Damage was kept mostly to the attic area with some smoke and water damage to other areas.  Again there were no injuries
Officials believed the cause may have been electrical.
