James G. Fowler, age 77, of Washington, passed away at 9:50 AM on Monday at his residence.
He was born on January 23, 1939 in Washington to Marston R. and Edith (Carrico) Fowler. He graduated from Washington Catholic High School and attended Vincennes University for two years and was a member of the Air Force reserves. He was retired from Old National Bank in Washington. He had owned and operated Queen Drive In, Pizza Haven and the Brass Lantern. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
He is survived by; his wife, Margaret Kay (Templin) Fowler whom he married September 6, 1959; three sons, Marston Roy Fowler of Washington, James G. Fowler Jr. of Washington and Patrick A. (Judy) Fowler of Washington; one daughter, Edith K. Kluemper of Mayfield, Kentucky; one brother, Marston Russell Fowler of Washington and two sisters; Connie Purdue and Van Kavanaugh of Washington; fifteen grandchildren; Tony Kluemper, Justin Fowler, Derek Fowler, Nathaniel Fowler, Lance Kluemper, Chante Excell, Katlyn Kluemper, Joshua Fowler, Danyelle Fowler, Dalton Fowler, Jantson Fowler, Bailey Fowler, Ashley Acra, Shawn Fowler and Shaley Fowler; twelve great grandchildren Maggie Kluemper, Gracie Kluemper, Lily Kluemper, Jake Kluemper, Peyton Kluemper, Sawyer Williams, Bryden Heller, Mason Heller, Daxx Fowler, Aslan Excell, Lyric Fowler and Cameron Fowler.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Myers and grandchild, Patrick A. Fowler. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a wake service at 3:30 PM on Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Education Endowment, P.O.
