Margaret L. (Peggy) Spaulding, 78, of Loogootee, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
She was born August 21, 1938 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Russell and Lucille (Gosnell) Hunt.
Peggy was a nurse for 34 years. She was the past director of Gentlecare Nursing Home for 14 years. She was member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She loved retirement and enjoyed it to the fullest. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s actives, Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bears football.
Peggy was preceded in death by her 1st husband in 1976, Chester Majewski and 2nd husband in 1994, Don Spaulding; siblings, Jim Hunt, John Hunt and Diane (Ed) Harder.
She is survived by her children, Patti Sander of Loogootee and Keith Majewski of Ft. Wright, Kentucky; grandchildren, Nicholas Sander and Elizabeth (Tyler) Burgess; great-grandchild, Teagan Burgess; siblings, Bill (Kay) Hunt of Loogootee, Larry (Angel) Hunt of Montgomery, Carolyn (Richard) Taylor of Loogootee and Darryl (Debbie) Hunt, both of Loogootee; sister-in-law, Sue Hunt; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
