Bessie Mae (Arvin) Palmer, 93, of Washington, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home.
She was born September 4, 1923 in Martin County, Indiana.
Bessie worked at Daviess Community Hospital for 50 years and then retired to caregiving. She loved to garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; daughter, Ruth Ann Roark and several brothers and sisters.
Bessie is survived by her grandchildren, Tracy McLin of Washington, Michelle Willis of Emison, and Pasha Roark of Bicknell; several great-grandchildren and care taker and friend, Mary Graber of Loogootee.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Blake & Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
