An investigation is underway in Orange County in the death of a French Lick man.
A concerned family member of 66-year-old James Bryson called police to conduct a welfare check on him at his home Tuesday. Police found the residence locked and secure with no signs of forced entry and after several attempts to make contact forced their way in. Once inside, they found Bryson dead. State Police were called to assist local authorities and determined there was foul play connected to the death. Because there was no break in, police believe the victim may have known his assailant. He lived with his sister who was out of town for the holidays. Police have not released the condition of the body and the cause of death is still being investigated.
Police are asking anyone who know of Bryson’s whereabouts from Saturday through Tuesday afternoon or any other pertinent information to call the Indiana State Police post at Jasper at 812-482-1441.
