Duke Energy customers in Petersburg were without power this morning. Power went out about 3:20-am and was restored before 7-am. The outage affected over 2000 people in and around Petersburg and because of the outage, Pike County Schools opted to opearate on a two hour delay and that does continue. No word from Duke on what exactly caused the outage, the sheriff’s office told us that according to their information the outage was caused when 3 large transformers outside of town blew.
