Wanona I. Nowling, 102, of Plainville, Indiana passed away May 13, 2017.
Born March 17, 1915 in Ivy, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Lula (Engleman) Norton. She was a 1933 graduate of Plainville High School, and very proud to be a member of the Plainville High School Alumni Association. She married Charles W. Nowling on October 30, 1937 in Odon. Wanona was a charter member of Parkview Christian Church, and a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Robert (Janet) Nowling; two daughters, Charlene Cox and Janet (Richard) Stuffle; eight Grandchildren, nineteen Great Grandchildren, seven Great-Great Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; three brothers, Dr. Horace Norton, Bernard Norton, and George Norton; a sister, Alliene O’Brian, and two Grandsons, Michael and Thomas Cox. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 16, 2017 in Gill funeral home with Pastor Alfred Helms officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Plainville cemetery.
