Jerry W. Griesemer, 82, of Bridgeport, formerly of Vincennes, passed away on June 9, 2017 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport.
He was born January 28, 1935 in Lawrenceville to Harley and Ethel (Sharp) Griesemer.
Jerry worked for many years at Wickes Lumber as a lumber Salesman and also for Bender Lumber. He attended Zion United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes, drawing, attending Walk of Emmaus walks, and being around kids. Jerry and his wife enjoyed their clown ministry as they helped with many Sunday School events and church camps.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Olive (Dellinger) Griesemer of Bridgeport; his two children, Robert W. Griesemer of Springfield, IL and Mary Sue (Brian) McCall of Lawrenceville; along with five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman and Ray Griesemer; and a sister, Betty Bass.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EDT Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3- 6pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
