Charles Chick Thompson

Charles Chick Thompson, age 87, of Shelbyville formerly of Washington, passed away at 9:28 PM on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Ashford Place Health Campus.
He was born on June 1, 1930 in Wheatland, Indiana to Charles and Ruth (Ricker) Thompson. He was a US Airforce Korean War Veteran and was retired from the United States Post Office as postal clerk. He also drove a school bus for several years and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Raymond) Becker of Independence, Ky., Vicki (Thomas) Thompson of Indianapolis, and Teresa (Richard) Mumma of Lyons; grandchildren, Ryan (Laura) Armes of Fishers, Brett (Kate) Armes of Denton, Texas., Bradley (Andrey) Mumma of Odon, Heather Mumma of Lyons, and Anthony (Keturah) Mumma of Vincennes; great grandchildren, Abigail Marie Armes and Emma Ruth Armes both of Fishers, Sarah Mumma, Ellie Mumma, and Braden Mumma all of Odon, and Keelie Mumma and Toby Mumma both of Vincennes; two sisters, Shirley Stroud of Oaktown and Jo Ann Clark of Toledo, Ohio; and one brother, Leon Thompson of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life for over 55 years, Sarah (Humphrey) Thompson on May 19, 2006, whom he had married on July 31, 1952. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Crane.
Private services were held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
