West Nile Virus has been detected in a batch of mosquitoes tested in Evansville. The Health Department reported positive tests in mosquitoes, but did not report any people being sick with it.
According to the Indiana State Department of Health Website, West Nile has been detected so far this year in mosquitoes in Knox, Pike, Dubois, Gibson and Greene Counties but none so far in Daviess or Martin. There’ve only been 2 human cases of West Nile reported and that was back in June in Lake and Hamilton Counties.
