Vivian L. (Howard) Opell, 94, of Washington passed away October 4, 2017. Born October 29, 1922 in McDonald, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Ida (Beeson) Howard. She was a 1940 graduate of McDonald Kansas High School, and attended Ft. Hayes Kansas State College. She married John A. Opell on August 1, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1994.
Vivian retired as a bookkeeper for Coca Cola Bottling Company in Washington, Indiana after many years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by, a Daughter, Julie Opell; a Son, Brent (Robin Andrews) Opell; a Granddaughter, Katie V. VanHoy; a Great Grandson, Jackson VanHoy, and a Sister, Vida Gillispie. She was also preceded in death by a Sister, Verne Swanson, and three Brothers, John, Charlie, and Glenn Howard. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery.
