James “Jim” Alexander Dolkey

James “Jim” Alexander Dolkey, 64, of Washington, IN passed away on October 22, 2017. He was born on August 26, 1953 in Hammond, IN to the late James E. and Alice E. (Kasinger) Dolkey. He and his family then moved to Wheatland, IN and spent his childhood there. He was a 1971 graduate of South Knox High School. Jim was the co-owner of Auto Clinic where he also worked. He was a former truck driver Teamster at Jefferson Trucking and a laborer at Prestolite Battery. He was a long time member of the 20th Century Chevy Car Club, and he enjoyed restoring classic cars. He enjoyed taking care of his family. His passion in life was helping others. The light of Jim’s life was his grandchildren. They were very special to him and he loved them with all of his heart. He was best known for putting everyone else’s needs first.
Jim is survived by his children: James Eugene Dolkey (Amy) and Craig Andrew Dolkey; grandchildren Thaddeus Harlan and Aubree Dolkey; sister Linda Sue Nesbitt (J.D.). He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dee Lamonte.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 4-8pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501.
