After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday.
Today is a day set aside for us to give time and resources to causes and charities in your community.
In Daviess County and the Daviess County Community Foundation is working this year to build permanent endowment funds for the foundation’s charitable partners.
Mary Smith, regional director of the Daviess County Community Foundation and Knox County Community Foundation, told the Washington Times Herald that organizations with permanent endowment funds held at the Foundation have been invited to join in the event. She said it’s the 2nd year for the Foundation to take part. Last year nearly $10,000 was given by 30 donors to the Foundation’s endowment funds. That was matched by nearly $20,000 from the foundation which this year will match new gifts up to $25,000.
To qualify for the matching dollars, gifts must be received on Tuesday. Gifts may be made online at CommunityFoundationAlliance.org/Daviess or at the office location, 320 East Main Street in Washington from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gifts of any dollar amount will be matched up the $25,000 cap.
