Cursive Writing Bill Introduced…Again

—For the seventh year in a row, State Sen. Jean Leising, R-Oldenburg, introduced a bill that would require Indiana elementary schools to teach cursive handwriting. Cursive handwriting became optional in 2011, after the state adopted (then ditched) the Common Core State Standards. Leising has been fighting to have cursive writing added back to state standards ever since.
