The Daviess County Council reviewed five proposals Thursday from financial consultants on funding the Daviess County Courthouse Annex Project.
All five have a cap project cost at $10.5 million with a 15 year payout. $7 million of that would be paid for with a bond funded through the County’s Economic Development Income Tax Fund. The Washington Times Herald reports the council instructed the county attorney to draw up documents involving potential down payments of $4 or $5 million.
The council is hoping final numbers come in lower than 10.5 million total. However, with the good financial state of the county and a growing job base, thus increasing the EDIT fund, officials are confident that a bond could be paid off or refinanced in 7 or 8 years.
