Petersburg’s IPL plant will be affected by what is described as a “global strategic transformation” by IPL’s Virginia based parent company AES.
In a notice to the state, IPL says the affected employees will be let go from six central Indiana locations.
The layoffs are expected to be permanent and will take place over a two-week period, beginning April 8 at 4 Indianapolis locations as well as the Petersburg and Martinsville facilities. The total to be laid off is 100.
