Ruth Evelyn Koehnemann

Ruth Evelyn Koehnemann, 100, of Vincennes, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Colonial Assisted Living.

She was born August 9, 1917 in Vincennes to John Lewis and Julia Clara (Boelling) Milam.

Ruth was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in which she was very involved in as she was part of the Missionary League. Her other memberships included the Lawrenceville VFW Auxiliary, Vincennes American Legion Auxiliary, and the 40 et 8 Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed cross stitching and was an excellent bowler as she was part of many bowling leagues in her younger days.

She retired in 1980 after 40 years as Office Manager of Producers Livestock and had previously worked at Brown Shoe Factory for five years.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews in which she thought of them as her own children, Jean and Mason Townsend, Sharon Armold, Carol and Bill Leeke, Ken and Joan Fraumann, Susan Milam and Jerry Flynn, John Milam and Julianne Lis-Milam; along with several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edward Koehnemann, whom she married on January 18, 1958 and preceded her on May 13, 1991; her brothers, William Wendall Milam, John Lewis Milam, and Maxim L. Milam; a sister, Lelah Fraumann; and a niece, Cheryl Wolbrecht.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at Gardner Brockman Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church.
