Virginia Mae Vieke

Virginia Mae Vieke, 88, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:50 am Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born July 16, 1929 in Vincennes to Harry and Dovie Aline (Hoalt) Dunham.

Mae was a member of the. St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and had worked at Tip Top Creamery. Her memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Mae enjoyed playing cards, an avid I.U. basketball fan, and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Surviving are her children, Patsy and Charlie Guerrettaz of Vincennes, Sandi and Bill Cole of Lyles, TN: a sister, Clara Wirth of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Angie and Matt Jackson of Kennesaw, GA, Ashlee and Devin O’Dell of Vincennes, and Lane Cole of Lyles, TN; her great grandchildren, Marlee and Haven O’Dell; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Bob” Vieke, who preceded her on January 9, 2014, a sister; Georgetta Yochum; and a brother, Robert Dunham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Monday March 12, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 pm Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home with a memorial service at 6.
