RCS Superstore in Vincennes has been named small business of the year by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce.
RCS has been in business since 1966. It was formerly known as Red’s Country Store. It was started by Red Roberts and Robert Pepmeier in an old farm implement store near Mirror Lake off Hart Street. In 1974 Roberts sold out and the Pepmeiers ran the appliance business. In ’97 the business burned and they reopened next door and renamed the store RCS Superstore. The Pepemeier’s handed the business over to their son Mark who is currently the owner operator.
Chamber Executive Director Jamie Neal says that they’ll be happy to recognize RCS at their annual awards dinner on April 26.
