Velma Lucille Corn

85, of Washington, IN passed away May 21, 2018 in Petersburg, IN.

Born February 5, 1933 in Winslow, IN; she was the Daughter of the late Welsie and Bethel (Bottom) Curry. She was a 1950 Graduate of Winslow High School. She married the late Hilbert A. Corn on February 17, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1998. She worked as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper for McCord Ford in Winslow for twenty years, and later, for Dobson Ford in Washington for twenty six years.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Washington. Velma was a member of Women’s Ministries International; the Winslow, IN Order of the Eastern Star and the Bible Study Group at her church. She also taught Sunday school for several years. She is survived by her Grandson, Derek Myers; a Brother, Paul G. Curry; Nieces, Nedra Font, Beth Woodford, Marsha Lee, and Leah Atcher; Nephews, Gary and Marshall Curry.

Preceding her in death along with her Parents and Husband are a Daughter, Cathy Ann Myers and a Sister, Helen Ashby.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2018 in Gill Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – until time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at; www.gillsince1872.com
