Mary Catherine (O’Brian) Ennis, age 98, of Washington, passed away June 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at The Villages of Oak Ridge.
She was born June 13, 1919 to John and Amanda O’Brian in Corning, Indiana. She was a caregiver to many and had worked at U.S. Rubber, NSWC Crane and retired from Armour.
Mary is survived by son, Donnie Ennis of Washington; daughter, Sue (Gerry) Cornelius of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Ann Ennis of Washington; sister, Helen Manus of Logansport and brother-in-law, Don Hunsinger; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Pat) Wade, Deb (Aaron) Rhoads, Diana (Dennis) Jenne and Randy(Cassie) Ennis, all of Washington, Tim (Angie) Cornelius, Lisa (James) Hannah, Brian (Christie) Cornelius and Adam (Melissa) Cornelius all of Indianapolis; twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Ennis on August 19, 1992, whom she had married on April 20, 1940; son, Edward Ennis; brothers, Joseph O’Brian, William O’Brian and Robert O’Brian; sisters, Pauline Hunsinger, Esther Walker, Irene Dyer and Ethel Hawryschuk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Fr Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
