Paul M. “Mike” Ault

Paul M. “Mike” Ault, 75, of Bicknell, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

The grandson of Carter and Myrtle (Benjamin) Thomas, he was born March 31, 1943 in Loogootee.

Mike was a retired Indiana State Police trooper with the rank of sergeant as he served with the department from 1965 to 1993 working out of the Jasper and Evansville Post. He was a member of the Indiana State Police Alliance, FOP Lodge #62, and the Hornaday Baptist Church in Petersburg.  He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and helping as a clerk for Roger Craig Auctions.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Kay (Mengedoht) Ault whom he married on March 31, 1998; his sons, Brian (Shellie) Ault of Papillion, Nebraska, and Matt (Shawna) Ault of Vincennes; step daughter, Lori (Gary) Alsman of Oaktown; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Taylor) Hunt, Joshua Ault, Seth (Gabrielle) Ault, Thomas Ault, and Hope Ault; step grandchildren Sara (Trent) Miller, and Eric (Heather) Alsman; great grandchildren, Savannah Hunt, Taylor Hunt Jr. and Lincoln Hunt; and a step great grandchild, Bexley Miller.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Phyllis Joan Ault; and a grandchild, Marlee Ault.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Jon McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana State Police Alliance.
