Emma Lou Duncan, 87, Evansville, formerly of Vincennes, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Evansville Protestant Home.
She was born July 10, 1931 in Sullivan County to Clarence and Armilda (Stinnett) Purcell.
Emma retired after 40 plus years as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and also volunteered after her retirement at the hospital. A member of the First Baptist Church, she loved all kinds of music and loved to sing.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Craig) Feldman of Evansville; her siblings, Elizabeth Ann Cradic of Boggstown, Indiana, Linda Cheatham of Terre Haute, and Larry Purcell of Indianapolis; her grandchildren, Claire Feldman, Jennifer (William) Duncan May, and David Duncan; along with two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Duncan whom she married on July 3, 1955; and two brothers, Paul and Warren Purcell.
Funeral services for Emma will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Brooks officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until the service. Burial will be held at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the family for Emma Lou’s final expenses.
