Brett David Yourgans

Brett David Yourgans, 52, of Huntingburg, passed away at his home Monday, Aug. 20, 2018. He was born March 15, 1966. Brett was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School.

He attended Vincennes University, where he earned his pilot’s license with flying colors. He began his career as a pilot at Huntingburg Airport. While living in Holland, Indiana, his last employment was as a corporate pilot and aviation department manager for Whayne Supply Company in Louisville, Kentucky. He enjoyed making and flying radio controlled airplanes and also working on cars. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Brett was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Otto and Eleonora Moers, and his paternal grandparents, Fred and Wilma Yourgans.

He is survived by his parents, Roger and Lorraine Yourgans of Evansville, formerly of Washington, Indiana; seven children, Ryan Buckley of Olney, Illinois, Brittney (Kenyon) Vincent of Jasper, Deanna Yourgans of Huntingburg, Michaela Yourgans of Indianapolis, Heather Yourgans of Evansville, Nathaniel Yourgans of Evansville, Alex Yourgans of Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Gabriel, Cameryn, Jackson, Chloe and Sophia, and one on the way; two siblings, Sabra (Bill) Young of Evansville and Holly (Curt) Miller of Gibson City, Illinois; one uncle, David (Linda) Yourgans of Evansville; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Brett David Yourgans will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand at 10 a.m. EDT (9:00 a.m. CDT) Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., EDT (1 p.m. to 7 CDT) Thursday and one hour prior to the Mass at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary will be at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
