Voter registration does continue across the state.
The deadline to register to vote in November’s General Election is October 9th. If you’re voting for the first time, have had a name change or have moved since you last voted, you can check your registration at your county’s clerk or voter registration office. You can also go to indianavoters.in.gov.
Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams has announced that early voting will start October 10th.
The top race in the state is for US Senate with Republican Mike Braun of Jasper challenging Democrat Joe Donnelly.
In our region, one of the most watched races in State Representative for District 63. When Mike Braun left that office last year, Republican Shane Lindauer was appointed by caucus to the seat that represents parts of Daviess, Pike and Dubois and Martin Counties. Now Lindauer will need to win the seat. He’s challenged by Democrat Joe Lannan of Loogootee. There are 3 other contested State Rep races that affect Daviess County.
Locally, there are nine county offices on this November’s ballot. Five of those are opposed. There are also several school board races in the county’s 3 public school systems.
Election day is November 6th.
