Keith Jones, 63 passed away surrounded by his loving family at 6:55 pm on October 17, 2018 at his residence. Keith was born on August 23, 1955 in Washington the son of Dean Webster and Helen Maxine (Ivy) Jones.
Keith was a member of the Church on the Way and a dedicated member of the 20th Century Chevy Car Club. He also was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Keith was in broadcasting for many years and owned and operated K Com and High Octane Trax. Keith had worked for several area radio stations as a disc jockey working under his own name and several pseudo names including “Pete Moss the dirt-bag of radio. He was also very instrumental in getting sound ran and played at Eastside Park as well as downtown Main Street and that music is still being played today. Keith recorded many Republican Party advertisements for area politicians for many years and had a major influence on all of the sounds of Washington and launched the careers of many musicians in Washington and the state of Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Jones of Washington; son, Joseph “Bobby” Jones and his wife Regina of Washington; sister, Linda Hauser and her husband Gary of Poplar Grove, IL; brother, Gary Jones and his wife Sherry of Washington; step-daughter, Melissa Padgett Green; step-son, Shawn Padgett; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt Garnet Rainey.
Friends may visit with Keith’s family from 2-8 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State Street, Washington, IN. There will be a celebration of life service starting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 and continuing into the night at Keith’s residence with Jeff Jones officiating.
