George Raymond Mundy Jr.

George Raymond Mundy Jr., 74, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Deaconnes Hospital in Evansville.

He was born August 9, 1944 in Vincennes to George and Dorothy (Warren) Mundy Sr.

George retired as a firefighter for the City of Vincennes retiring in 2007 after serving for 30 years and had also worked at Mundy’s Garage with his father. He served his country in the United States Air Force and belonged to the Knox County Sportsman Club, the Evansville Metropolitan Grotto, and Caving Club.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy (Sauer) Mundy, whom he married on March 15, 1968; his children, George Mundy III and his wife, Sue Ann, of Spokane, Washington, Scott Mundy and his wife, Karen of Oaktown, Hunter Mundy, and Brooke Robinson and her husband, Joe of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Joshua Mundy, Kyle Mundy, Nicole Mack, Hunter Joe Gaines, Brady Robinson, Cyleah Mundy, Adelynn Smith, and Brantley Mundy; and his great grandchildren, Isabella Mundy, Aayla Smith, Liam Smith, and Hayden Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Michael Mundy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Howder officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to care for the family of George Mundy.
