The Martin County Sheriff’s department released details Monday of a Sunday traffic stop that resulted in two arrests.
While on patrol, a Shoals officer saw a vehicle commit two moving violations. After a traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, Joshua E. Schmitt had a suspended driver’s license. The officer asked to search the vehicle and consent was given. Meth, pot and paraphernalia were found. The 30-year-old Schmitt and a passenger, 41-year old George B. Douglas were taken into custody. While being searched at the jail more meth and paraphernalia were found on Douglas.
Both men are from Commiskey, Indiana and are charged with Possession of Meth and Paraphernalia. Schmitt was also charged on the Driving While Suspended offense and with Possession of Marijuana.
