We say it and you hear it, but not all heed the warning of Turn Around Don’t Drown.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Department reports they were called to a vehicle in the high water on the flooded State Road 450 near Fred Sims Road. A conservation officer, Martin Sheriff’s Major and a state trooper arrived to find a person in their vehicle and they made a water rescue. The motorist was in the waist deep water for just less than a haf hour.
Again, never attempt to drive through flood waters no matter how high.
